In a landmark ruling at the High Court in Glasgow, seven individuals have been sentenced to a combined total of 93 years in prison for their roles in the sexual abuse of children in the Glasgow area. The convictions, which followed an intense eleven-week trial, were delivered on Monday, January 27, 2025. Among those sentenced were Iain Owens, 46, who received a twenty-year sentence, and Elaine Lannery, 40, who was handed a seventeen-year term. Scott Forbes, 51, was sentenced to eight years, while Barry Watson, 48, received nine and a half years. Lesley Ann Williams and Paul Brannan, both 42, were sentenced to fourteen and fifteen years, respectively. John Clark, 48, was given a ten-year sentence.
