The Gorbals has changed a lot, but it still holds something — something raw, something real. I didn’t grow up here, but I’ve spent enough time walking it to know the cracks in the pavement and the stories behind some of its people

I don’t go looking for drama or beauty. I just walk. Camera slung over my shoulder, waiting for the wee moments. A glance, a laugh, an empty doorway. Sometimes I don’t even take a photo. Just stand there and breathe it in gey my steps in.

Folk think of the Gorbals how it used to be — tough, dangerous. Some of that’s true. But there’s heart in it. A lot of heart. It’s not shiny or polished, but it’s honest. That’s what I try to catch — not the perfect shot, just the real one.

There’s pride here. Even in the bits folk pass by without looking. Especially there.

I’m not trying to make a statement. Just trying to show what I see. Maybe someone else will see it too.
