Reactive inspections will be conducted on the Kingston Bridge on the M8 in Glasgow following debris falling from the structure during severe weather conditions. Police responded early Monday morning after reports of the concrete falling, which resulted in the temporary closure of Paisley Road West. Amey South-West, tasked with maintaining trunk roads for Transport Scotland, confirmed that engineers inspected the bridge before its reopening and additional evaluations are scheduled to assess its condition. Standing at nearly 55 years old and measuring 270 meters (886 feet) in length and 40 meters (131 feet) in height, this bridge is a crucial component of Scotland's transportation framework. The safety and integrity of the structure will be a priority as further inspections are carried out.
