Two youths have been arrested and charged in connection with a wilful fire on Taransay Street in Glasgow. Emergency services responded to reports of a bike ablaze around 10:30 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The fire rapidly spread to an electrical substation, prompting a swift response from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, who managed to extinguish it. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries; however, approximately 500 properties experienced a loss of power while repairs were carried out. The males, aged 15 and 16, are scheduled to appear in court at a later date. Sergeant Clark commented, “This incident had a significant impact on the area, and I’d like to thank the local community for their assistance during this event.” The police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward as the investigation unfolds.
